Dreams, Mindfulness & Personal Growth:

How does dream work benefit the therapeutic process?

We all dream at night, but we don’t always take the time to contemplate on their meaning. In fact, we often brush them away as something irrelevant or simply too confusing to even think about.

Dreams are wonderful because they don’t only highlight what is really going on in our lives, but they also help us identify unconscious negative and self-destructive thought patterns. By becoming more aware of what we are having problems with, feel worried about, and what we truly want in life, we become better equipped with unique insights to create our future in the direction we desire. We see the bigger picture, and through dream analysis we receive the tools to get us where we want to go. The dream world offers us an infinite supply of wisdom just waiting to be tapped into!

In dream analysis, we continuously work on enhancing our awareness levels, and I love incorporating mindful meditation exercises in the process.  Mindful meditations are both soothing and balancing, and is a beautiful way of reconnecting with our higher selves. When we feel mindful and balanced, we have less reactivity to both our feelings and emotions, less resistance, we feel less stressed, less anxious, and we also feel much happier and are more open to new opportunities and ideas. When we connect with the stillness within, it enhances the way we perceive the world around us.  Through higher awareness we are not only in a position to better understand our own actions, but also better able to respond to life's events, and we learn to embrace the present moment...

As our awareness levels increase, we also become more open to meaningful coincidences, also known as Synchronicity, and other forms of unconscious guidance.

"When the pupil is ready, the teacher will come."
Chinese proverb

Synchronicity occurs when an inner state, such as a thought, feeling, or dream is matched with a related event in the external world. A synchronistic event may enhance our lives in the most remarkable ways, or may help fuel us with the energy we need to move forward in a certain direction.  Therapy allows us to work on our inner subjective states, which helps us to not only better notice a synchronistic event as it happens, but also to process its significance at that particular point in time of our lives. With higher awareness, we become more open to the multifaceted levels of transformation available to us!

As a dream analyst, I help clients create the future they desire by using the power of their own dreams. I hold classes, seminars, and dream groups, and speak at conferences, and I share many of the intriguing insights I've acquired along the way, from having worked with my own dreams since a young child.

In addition to my seminars and workshops, I currently offer two types of services:

Therapeutic Services:
For therapeutic services, I meet with clients out of a charming office suite in Costa Mesa, close to South Coast Plaza. We will work on your current life situation, and may incorporate dream work if we both view it as beneficial to the therapeutic process and your personal growth.

Dream Affirmations:

If you are interested in learning more about the power of positive affirmations and manifestations, and linking it to your dream work, please visit my site:  www.DreamAffirmations.com In this forum, I offer readers the opportunity to receive dream interpretation and guidance by email. Please note that this service is not therapy based, it is not face to face, and the advice given is solely based on correspondence.
